About Procyon Gallery

Founded in 1985, Procyon Gallery was originally conceived as a cozy venue for nationally known artists as well as lesser know local artists. Although small, the gallery packed a lot of wallop with it's high ceilings and interesting wall shapes. Unfortunately, the heavy rains of 1985 and subsequent flooding of the Napa Valley damaged that location beyond usefulness.

Procyon Gallery (ver.2) moved to a custom built space in the Georgia Street Plaza where it thrived for many years. A small frame shop within the gallery was quickly overwhelmed by customer demand. Another location within the Georgia Street Plaza was sourced just for a larger framing area. When the business next door to the gallery moved away, the frame shop was moved back into that vacated space. That allowed framing customers and art collectors to be served in one location. That was Procyon Gallery versions 3 & 4.

Eventually, a storefront on Georgia Street opened up and the gallery was moved to a new location after 15 years in the Plaza. Procyon Gallery (ver.5) features about a 50/50 mix of art and framing. Art work from posters to original prints, paintings to one of a kind sculpture pieces are proudly displayed. The framing studio offers our customers almost unlimited choices in mat board, molding, and glazing selections. It is capable of almost any style and type of framing including full on conservation/museum framing. Our pricing is competitive, our quality is high and our customer satisfaction is always guaranteed.

1985.... Procyon Gallery's humble beginning was this small but intimate storefront location. One of our first exhibits was this one that featured the incredible and nationally acclaimed art prints of Will Barnet.

Almost as an afterthought, a small framing area was built to do only the basic framing required to support the gallery's needs. The public had other ideas and soon overwhelmed us with retail framing orders.
This was Procyon Gallery's first exhibit. It featured work by Salvador Dali.
